Information We Collect

When you complete the Grid beta intake, we collect the answers you submit, which may include business name, business stage, business type, business description, city, state, physical location model, team size, business hurdles, freeform descriptions, name, age range, gender selection, role or title, business motivation, long-term owner view, current support need, email address, and whether you opt in to marketing updates or a follow-up interview.

Some survey fields are freeform. Do not submit sensitive information that is not needed for the survey, such as government ID numbers, financial account numbers, health information, passwords, or confidential third-party information. Grid does not intentionally collect sensitive personal information through the beta intake survey.

When you use withgrid.io, we and our service providers may collect technical information such as IP address or network-derived location signals used for security, abuse prevention, and U.S.-only access controls; browser, device, and request information needed to operate and secure the website; non-PII analytics events; and error or performance information needed to detect and fix site problems.

Grid does not intentionally send email addresses, names, business names, freeform survey text, request bodies, cookies, authorization headers, or other directly identifying survey details to analytics or error monitoring tools.

Local Browser Storage

The intake may save in-progress survey answers in your browser's local storage so you can resume where you left off. This information stays on your device until you submit the survey, clear browser data, or the site clears it. Grid clears the saved intake state after a successful submission.

If you use a shared device, another person with access to that browser may be able to see saved answers.

How We Use Information

• Store and review completed beta survey responses.
• Understand which business stages, business types, locations, hurdles, tools, and support needs appear most often.
• Decide what Grid should build next.
• Operate, secure, debug, and improve the website and submission flow.
• Contact you about your submission, incentive eligibility, gift-card fulfillment, privacy requests, or other transactional matters.
• Send product updates or resources only if you separately opt in to marketing updates.
• Invite you to a follow-up interview only if you separately opt in to interview participation.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

Marketing and Interview Consent

Marketing updates are optional and unchecked by default. If you opt in, we may send occasional Grid updates, product news, or resources. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.

Interview participation is optional and separate from marketing consent. If you opt in, we may contact you about a possible follow-up conversation. Opting in to interviews does not mean you opted in to marketing emails.

Transactional emails about your submission, incentive eligibility, gift-card fulfillment, deletion or access requests, or similar operational matters may be sent even if you do not opt in to marketing updates.

Incentive Eligibility

Grid may offer a $20 Starbucks gift card to eligible respondents who are among the first 100 completed beta submissions, as described in the intake and Terms of Service. We use your email address to review eligibility, check for duplicate submissions, contact you if needed, and fulfill the gift card if you qualify.

Duplicate email submissions may be accepted by the system but flagged for manual review before incentive fulfillment. Grid may deny or withhold an incentive if we reasonably believe a submission is incomplete, duplicate, fraudulent, automated, abusive, outside beta scope, or otherwise inconsistent with the incentive terms.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information with service providers that help us operate Grid. These providers may support hosting and infrastructure, data storage and backup, website analytics, error monitoring and debugging, email delivery, fraud and abuse prevention, security, founder review workflows, and other business operations.

We may disclose information to professional advisors, such as lawyers, accountants, auditors, bankers, and insurers, where necessary for the services they provide to us.

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request; to protect the rights, privacy, safety, or property of Grid, users, or others; to enforce our Terms of Service; or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. To decide how long to keep information, we consider factors such as the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the information; the purposes for which we collected it; whether we can achieve those purposes through other means; and our legal, security, and operational needs.

If you request deletion, we will delete active submission data and operational copies we control after verifying the request, unless we need to keep certain information for legal, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or other lawful purposes. Backup copies may persist until they expire through our normal backup lifecycle.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Privacy Choices and Requests

Because Grid beta does not have user accounts, requests are handled by email.

You may contact julie@withgrid.io to request access to personal information associated with your email address, request deletion of your submission, correct information by asking us to delete your old submission and, if appropriate, submitting a new response, opt out of marketing emails, or ask privacy questions.

To protect your information, we may ask you to verify control of the email address associated with the submission or provide other information needed to locate your record. We use verification information only to process the request.

California residents and residents of other states with applicable privacy rights may have additional rights under state privacy laws. We will respond to verified privacy requests within the time required by applicable law.

U.S.-Only Scope

Grid beta is intended for users in the United States, limited to the 50 states and Washington, D.C. It is not directed to users outside the United States, U.S. territories, APO/FPO addresses, or users under 18.

Children

Grid beta is not intended for people under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If you believe a person under 18 submitted information, contact us at julie@withgrid.io.

Third-Party Links

The site may link to third-party websites or resources. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and take other steps required by law.
